Broadening Horizons Via Our Specialism
We gained our main Specialism, as a Languages College, from the SSAT in 1999. It has been a real benefit to the school and all students must study at least one Language whilst at Lord Grey. There is also the opportunity to study a second language. In addition to this there are opportunities for recreational language study. We have three or four Language Assistant come to work at the school each year and we have a strong link with Ruyuan High School in China. We run language immersion experiences for Year 7 and we offer exchange visits to France and Germany. We often run a languages trip to Spain and we offer the chance for native speakers of a foreign language to gain an extra qualification in their ‘home’ language. We also offer Asset Language qualifications, in addition to GCSEs, to boost students’ examination points at KS4 and KS5.
